SELECTED ENGAGEMENTS
Airline engagements spanning market access, business separation and startup systems.
DISTRIBUTION & MARKET ACCESS

Gulf Air’s services from six European cities offered gateways to its network. A booking system needed to combine US-originating codeshare flights with onward Gulf Air services into complete, bookable journeys.
Gulf Air had no flights to the United States. Reaching American customers required a system that could bridge the gap between its European gateways and US points of origin.
The solution connected codeshare journeys from the US with Gulf Air’s own network: a technology response to a commercial challenge, extending its reach into a market its aircraft did not serve.
AIRLINE BUSINESS SEPARATION

Support for the separation of ExpressJet from SkyWest, addressing the technology transition required for the airline to operate independently.
Separating ExpressJet from SkyWest meant establishing the systems and services needed to run an independent airline while continuing daily operations.
A one-year transition services agreement set the window for moving away from the former parent’s systems. The planning challenge was to identify dependencies, sequence the transition and establish which capabilities the airline would need to replace or retain.
The engagement addressed the technology requirements of the separation, with operational continuity and readiness for the end of the transition period guiding the work.
AIRLINE STARTUP PLANNING

Systems planning for an airline startup, exploring how a small operation could access the technology it needed through cloud services.
Air Santo Domingo’s proposed two-aircraft operation raised a practical question: how could a small airline obtain the systems it needed without taking on the cost and complexity of a large airline’s technology estate?
The requirement was an “airline in a box”: cloud services brought together to support the business, with limited upfront capital expenditure and operating costs that could scale with use.
The engagement explored a systems approach suited to the size of the operation, balancing the capabilities required to run an airline with the economics of a startup.
TRAVELAC ROUTE PLANNING
The Travelac Route Planning Simulator is a lightweight tool for exploring airline route economics and comparing competing uses of aircraft capacity.
Adjust demand, connecting feed, fares, seats, frequency, block time and operating costs. See how those assumptions affect revenue, seat occupancy, contribution after flight costs, aircraft hours and break-even load factor.
Explore the simulatorSmall changes can alter the ranking.
Does another frequency improve contribution enough to justify the aircraft time?
How much connecting traffic does a route need to work?
Can extra seats be filled at a viable fare?
The simulator offers a quick way to test network ideas and challenge assumptions before committing capacity.
Feedback from network planning, revenue management and fleet strategy teams is welcome: what would you refine, expand or test next?
